Dubai To Build “Moving” Scyscraper
2008 June 25
Have I mentioned that I’m in Real Estate – in this case specifically International Real Estate ..
Anyone interested in a unit? This is awesome! Check it out and if you have 3.7 – 36 million (that may be euro dollars) to buy a unit .. my email is on the top of my sidebar
And .. it’s green:
The slender building would be energy self-sufficient as the turbines would produce enough electricity to power the entire building and even feed extra power back into the grid, said the Italian architect at the unveiling of the project in New York.
It should be completed by 2010 .. okay, I’m going to put off summer shopping skiing in Dubai until then.

An excellent example of an idea that looks great on paper but would be awful in practice.
Well, I think Dubai is famous for that kind of architechture so it will fit right in.
I prefer cities rich with historic buildings and elements of conformity but Dubai – I just have got to see it!
i feel sorry for the people who have lived in dubai since long before all this madness started.
Yes, Dubai is famous for avant-garde architecture, but this is just a bad idea. Either the floors will move quickly, in which case people will get motion sick, or they will move slowly, in which case it won’t be noticeable enough to be cool and will instead just be disorienting. Also, the novelty would quickly wear off. The only thing that would be accomplished would be to greatly increase the cost per unit, though in Dubai, that may not necessarily be a bad idea.
